Elite Premier League Clubs on High Alert As PSG Star Asks For Exit

A number of Premier League clubs are on red alert as PSG defender Thiago Silva has admitted that he is interested in a move away from the club this summer.

Some reports, such as those from Caught Offside and Football Direct News, have suggested that the 29 year old has had a confrontational run in with manager Laurents Blanc after their shock exit to Chelsea in the Champions League quarter finals.

Silva is considered by many to be the best centre back in the world, and a number of Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are hugely keen on the Brazilian defender.

He is said to be unhappy with the management and direction of PSG following the defeat, and is keen to transfer to a club that has better prostigious trophy prospects.

This represents a significant problem with the PSG project: the French league title just isn’t a big enough carrot to encourage world class players to remain at the club. If a Champions League trophy isn’t forthcoming, then PSG may well end up losing their best players, as appears to be the case with Silva.

What do you think? Should Thiago Silva move away from Paris? Who should aim for his signature?
