According to Reports, Barcelona Approach Wenger over Manager Job

According to audacious reports by Caught Offside, Barcelona are lining up to approach Arsene Wenger about a soon-to-be vacant managerial position at the Nou Camp.

The report insists that Barcelona are set to call time on Gerardo Martino’s short tenure in Barcelona, and will attempt to install Arsene Wenger as his immediate replacement.

Wenger’s current deal expires at the end of the season, and there have been talks that Wenger might potentially move on from the Emirates club.

Wenger reached the milestone of 1000 Arsenal matches managed this weekend, but the game ended in disappointment for the Gunners as Chelsea shockingly ran out 6-0 winners.

Arsenal have gone nine years without a trophy too, although they remain the firm favourites in this season’s FA cup with no major clubs remaining in the competition.

If Arsenal fail to win a trophy this year, Wenger may well be forced out of the Emirates, potentially paving the way to a move to Barcelona. Similarly, if the season ends with glory for the Gunners, then Wenger may well see it as an opportunity to call time on his career in London and seek a new challenge.

Despite all of these possibilities, we think it is extremely unlikely that Wenger will be poached by Barcelona in this manner.

What do you think? Should Barcelona move for Wenger, or should Arsenal give him a new contract?
