According to Reports, Arsenal Given Green-Light To Sign German Wonder Kid

Arsenal have been given a subtle go-ahead in their long-standing bid to sign German super kid Julian Draxler. Draxler has been a long-term target for the Gunners, and recent comments by the Chairman of Schalke have encouraged Arsenal to make their move for the coveted youngster.

Having failed in a bid for the player this January, Arsenal fans will be pleased to hear that Clemens Tonnies, Schalke chairman, believes that a move for the youngster is imminent.

“It pleases me when FC Bayern or foreign clubs are interested in our players”, he told the German daily TZ.

“But that doesn’t mean that they will move there. It rather means that we are doing a great job and that we have a good youth department.”

“I’ve already said it quite often: Players of Julian’s quality will of course eventually look elsewhere”

“What’s important to me is that the transfer benefits the club, too.”

“Even though it is a shame to see players like [Manuel] Neuer or maybe sometime in the future Draxler go: One should not pocket the money and then moan about it afterwards.”

The road to the signature of Draxler has been paved – but will it be Arsenal that arrive at the destination first?
