According to Reports, Man Utd “In Talks” to Sign £70m German Pair
According to reports from CaughtOffside and Football Direct News, Manchester United are closing in on deals to sign German internationals Toni Kroos and Marco Reus from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester United manager David Moyes is desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window this summer, following a 2013 window that yielded little but rejection and disappointment.
Kroos, a long-time target for Manchester United, is currently engaged in contractual negotiations with Bayern Munich. The player is reportedly keen on receiving a massive pay hike – a raise that the Bavarian club is unlikely to grant.
A desperate Manchester United, however, are more than willing to pay the demanded wages. They have demonstrated their willingness to pay huge amounts to star players only this week, as Rooney signed a 300,000k-a-week contract.
Marco Reus is another player that David Moyes has reportedly been keen on for some time. The Borussia Dortmund star has scored 30 goals and provided 20 assists in only 78 appearances for the club.
Dortmund are now approximately 20 points off the Bundesliga title pace, and a loss of form might encourage Reus to make a move elsewhere.
The reported value for the pair equates to a massive £70m. What do you think? Would this represent good business for Manchester United and David Moyes?
