Manchester United: Deal close for Dortmund star
Ilkay Gundogan is close to a move to Manchester United, according to the Daily Mirror.
Manchester United announced Wayne Rooney’s £85million contract extension this week & is apparently confident that he has moved closer to signing the Dortmund star despite interest from Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea. Gundogan is seen as long-term midfield star for the Reds & would finally replace the hole left following Paul Scholes’ departure.
Former Dortmund favourite Shinji Kagawa, who has seen his playing time limited under Moyes, may be used a make-weight in the deal for Gundogan. Manchester United are also working to complete a deal for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports.
