Man Utd confident of beating Chelsea to sign sensational 18-year old left-back Luke Shaw

Manchester United are confident that they can beat Chelsea to the summer signing of Southampton’s Luke Shaw.

Shaw, 18, has been in sensational form for Saints this season and has been tipped with a move to Chelsea & Manchester United. The future England star has been a Chelsea supporter since he was a young lad.

With Patrice Evra likely to join Nemanja Vidic on United’s summer departures list, the impressive Shaw is poised to replace him. David Moyes failed to agree a deal for Leighton Baines in the January transfer window.

According to ESPN, Manchester United made a huge £22.5m bid in the January transfer window. This is said to be still on the table. Moyes eager to secure the services of the England under-21 international ahead of current Premier League leaders, Chelsea.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing a long-term replacement for veteran left-back Ashley Cole. Names suggested are Ryan Bertrand, Cesar Azpilicueta or the United target, Luke Shaw.
