Manchester United to Use Huge Nike Deal to Fund Massive Double Bayern Munich Swoop

By on February 4, 2014

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a sensational double swoop for Bayern Munich pair Thomas Muller by Toni Kroos, funded by their new record breaking sponsorship deal from Nike.

The Premier League strugglers will see their current deal with Nike expire in 2015, with an expected new deal set to net Manchester United over £700m.

David Moyes will be handed significant amounts of these funds, in order to revamp his squad for the upcoming season. Manchester United have lost a third of their Premier League games this year, and will be desperate to get back to winning ways in the league.

Toni Kroos has demanded a massive wage boost at Bayern Munich, and the Bavarian club are reluctant to meet this demands – potentially leading to an exit this summer. However, a move for Muller will prove much less likely, forcing Moyes to throw money at his problem in order to revamp his squad.

Undeniably important is Manchester United’s Champions League status – if the club fails to qualify then both this massive double swoop and Nike’s huge sponsorship could still fall through.
