Barcelona Make Move for £50m Manchester City Midfielder

Barcelona are reportedly preparing an audacious bid for Manchester City midfielder David Silva this summer.

The Catalan club see Silva as a potential long-term replacement for now ageing midfielder Xavi, and are willing to go “all out,” in order to lure the star to the Nou Camp.

Silva has been one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League since his move to the Etihad, hitting 57 assists and 22 goals in just 160 appearances for the mega-rich club.

Silva would apparently be tempted by the move, as he attempts to further establish himself as a regular in the Spanish international side – a team that he has largely remained on the fringe of.

Manuel Pellegrini is desperate to keep hold of his midfield maestro, but with Barcelona’s Xavi hitting almost 35, Barcelona appear ready to make their massive bid to get their star replacement.
