Chelsea Have Agreed a Sensational Swap-Deal with Atletico Madrid, According to Reports

By on January 28, 2014

Jose Mourinho has reportedly authorized an outrageous swap-deal with Atletico Madrid that will see Diego Costa move to Stamford Bridge, with highly-rated goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois staying at the Vicente Calderon.

Chelsea are desperate for a killer marksman, and Mourinho has identified Costa as the man that will help Chelsea pursue trophies in the coming years.

The 25 year old Brazilian has scored 19 goals in 21 La Liga appearances this year, and is at the vanguard of a side that are pushing Barcelona and Real Madrid all the way in the title race.

Despite this, Chelsea fans will feel frustrated at the sight of such a marvellous young prospect in Courtois not joining the club.

Chelsea did some excellent business by signing the youngster several years ago, and his value has significantly increased since then.

However, a more frugal Chelsea appear to be keen to only spend what they make in profits, with the Juan Mata deal a prime example.

With that in mind, Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Costa to Chelsea for free – in exchange for the young Belgian.
