David Moyes is keen to complete deals for Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos and Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus as Manchester United look to improve their squad in the  summer transfer market following the club-record signing of Juan Mata.

Toni Kroos, 24, will be out of contract when his current deal expires in 2015, and Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich are spoilt for choice in attacking areas. The highly-rated German international may be keen on a move to Manchester United in the summer.

Marco Reus, 24, has a £30 million release clause in his contract at Dortmund, although it is only active in the summer of 2015. One would expect Dortmund to hold out for more than that, if Moyes makes a move. Reus has been linked with a move to the Premier League since the resurgence of Borussia Dortmund as a force in European football.

Manchester United will be desperate to qualify for the Champions League. Without it, their potential deals for Kroos and Reus are extremely unlikely. If Germany impress at Brazil 2014, Manchester United could certainly see themselves
