Zidane: Manchester United made a huge mistake

By on January 12, 2014

Zinedine Zidane told reporters: “The word ‘mistake’ is not something you would normally associate with Alex Ferguson’s time at Manchester United.”

Zidane, Real Madrid’s sporting director, believes that Sir Alex Ferguson lost the natural successor to Paul Scholes when Pogba joined Serie A giants Juventus in the summer of 2012.

“I do think it was a mistake letting Paul Pogba leave. He will go on to be one of the best central midfield players in Europe and he was the natural successor to Paul Scholes, someone they could have built the team around. He is with Juventus and doing very well but, as always, Real Madrid will be looking to add the best players in the world.”

Paul Pogba made just seven appearances for Manchester United – all of them as a substitute. Oh, how David Moyes could use a player like Pogba right now.
