Rooney back on Chelsea’s radar following impressive run of form

By on December 22, 2013

Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in a prolific forward to lead his attack as his current striking options, Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba, have failed to deliver this term.

Rooney, 28, is yet to agree a new Manchester United contract, with his current deal set to run out in 18 months. Chelsea are reportedly set to make another move for the England international.

Rooney was strongly linked with a Manchester United exit in the summer, with Jose Mourinho keen to bring the former Everton man to Stamford Bridge. Moyes’ reluctance to let Rooney leave has proved very effective, netting eight goals and providing eight assists in Premier League action. United would be in trouble without him.
