Outrageous: Lionel Messi Linked With Transfer to Premier League Club

By on December 21, 2013

According to outrageous reports from CaughtOffside and Fanatix, Chelsea are “reportedly” the favourites to sign Lionel Messi following a recent spat between the player and the club director.

Naturally, these reports are hugely speculative, and lack significant substance. Messi appears to be a lifelong member of the Catalan Club, and no number of disputes with board members is likely to change that.

Despite this, that hasn’t stopped these publications from speculating that Messi is on the verge of a move away from the Nou Camp.

Messi said about Javier Faus, the club director, recently in an interview, “Barcelona is the best club in the world and should be represented by the best board members, too”

“Senor Faus is someone who doesn’t know anything about football and wants to manage Barcelona like a business, which it is not.”

“Besides, I would remind him that neither I nor anyone from my camp has asked for any wage increase and he knows that very well.”

Despite these comments, it is clear enough that Messi’s future, for the time being at least, is at the Nou Camp.
