Man Utd’s Wayne Rooney Set to Sign Outrageous New £50m Contract

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is reportedly set to sign a massive new contract at Old Trafford worth £50m.

Rumours have been abound that Rooney would delay his contract talks and force a move this summer, but it now appears that Manchester United may have convinced the striker to finally put pen to paper.

His new deal is reportedly worth about £50m – a massive sum indeed, and would keep him at Old Trafford for at least another four years.

The 28 year old has been in fine form so far this season, hitting 10 goals and 11 assists in 21 total appearances this year.

David Moyes has been desperate to keep Rooney at United from the very beginning of his reign at Old Trafford, and has had to fend off offers from a number of suitors, including Chelsea and Jose Mourinho.

It was rumoured that Mourinho would re-establish his interest in the Englishman this January, but Jose himself literally laughed off this suggestion in a recent press conference.

It would appear then that Rooney is set to remain at Old Trafford.

What do you think? Is this good for Rooney?
