Angry Mourinho Ready to Sell Trio of Strikers, According to Reports

By on December 9, 2013

According to the Daily Star, Jose Mourinho is reportedly prepared to offload his misfiring trio of strikers after their underwhelming performance so far in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea have notched up a decent goal scoring return this season – 30 goals in 15 fixtures – but Mourinho’s strikers have only produced four out of that total.

Mourinho’s frustrations with his forwards reached a boiling point on Saturday evening, when he said that his Chelsea side would be leading the league, if he had better strikers.

Mourinho said, “If you tell me Sergio Aguero has scored already 10 or 12 goals, Alvaro Negredo 10 or 12 goals, Edin Dzeko four or five, Wayne Rooney eight or 10, Olivier Giroud eight or 10, Daniel Sturridge eight or 10, Luis Suarez 10 or 12 and ask me would I like my strikers to score eight,10, 12 goals, yes of course.”

“If we had eight,10,12 goals from the strikers, we would be top of the league. That’s a reality.”

Fernando Torres has been troubled by inconsistency and injury this campaign, Eto’o is an ageing veteran and Demba Ba is largely seen by Mourinho as a bit-part player.

What do you think? Do Chelsea need better strikers in order to challenge for the title?
