Chelsea Duo “On Their Way” to Madrid in Sensational Double-Bid

By on December 5, 2013

La Liga’s Atletico de Madrid are hugely interested in signing Chelsea duo Juan Mata and Kevin de Bruyne.

The young Belgian and Spaniard have appeared surplus to requirements at times this season under Jose Mourinho, although Mata has experienced something of a resurgence in the last two games for Chelsea.

Mata has only featured in nine of Chelsea’s Premier League matches so far, but most of his appearances have been from the bench. The Spaniard has also missed a number of Chelsea’s Champions League and Cup games.

De Bruyne, on the other hand, has yet to even feature for a full 90 minutes of action for the Stamford Bridge outfit since he joined from Genk in 2012.

With it being a World Cup year, both players are likely to be keen on a change that guarantees them playing time, whether that be a change of fortunes at the Bridge or a move elsewhere.

Atleti boss Diego Simeone has reportedly organized a sensational double bid for the two players after conceding that he is likely to lose his star midfielder Koke to Manchester United this January.

What do you think? Would this move suit the players?
