Chelsea line up whopping £50m January Spending Spree on European Pair
Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea are reportedly ready to splash out a massive £50m this January on two of the hottest prospects in Europe.
Reportedly, Mourinho is ready to invest heavily on Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula and FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.
Mangala was on the radar of Manchester United this summer, but the Old Trafford outfit were unwilling to meet the buyout clause of £37m. Mourinho, though, is a big fan of the French international and remains interested in signing the player.
Mourinho reportedly believes that he can use his contacts in Portuguese football to negotiate a deal closer to a more reasonable fee of £25m.
Imbula has been valued near the same amount, and following the collapse of the Blues’ interest in Paul Pogba, has become a prime transfer target for the Stamford Bridge club.
