Moyes handed £50m after Manchester United’s worst Premier League start
David Moyes will be backed by Manchester United executives in the January transfer window, according to the Guardian. Moyes is considering a potential £50m move for his former star Leighton Baines and Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera.
Any move for Athletic Bilbao’s midfield star Ander Herrera may require Manchester United to break their transfer record of £30.75m fee to meet the €36m release clause after the La Liga side refused a £25.6m bid in the summer.
Manchester United had a £15m bid rejected for Baines in the summer, and now it seems that it may take an offer of £20m+ to sign the England international left-back. Baines has been in fine form this season, as Everton stormed into the top-four after six matches.
Over the weekend, David Moyes told reporters that he felt United can’t win the Champions League with their current crop of players.
