Manchester United set for talks with world’s highest-paid footballer as Moyes looks to strengthen his forward line
Metro report that Manchester United are keen on Chelsea target Samuel Eto’o as the Premier League champions are expected to meet the Cameroon striker’s agent later in the week.
The former Inter Milan and Barcelona star, Eto’o, is available for around £5million as formerly-loaded Anzhi attempt to pull themselves out of a difficult financial situation. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his forward line of Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku & Demba Ba and is keen to be reunited with the 32-year-old, if Manchester United continue to play hard-ball over Wayne Rooney.
Gazzetta Dello Sport suggest that Manchester United want to meet with Eto’o agent as the end of the transfer window looms. The Italian sport paper suggest that if Rooney gets his wish to depart Old Trafford before the transfer window closes, David Moyes will make his move for Eto’o. United have arranged a meeting with the forward’s representative in England for Tuesday.
