Benitez: I’m not sure I’ll last at Chelsea

By on December 1, 2012

In the wake of defeat to West Ham, Chelsea’s interim manager Rafa Benitez has admitted he may not last the season at Chelsea.

Chelsea went 1-0 up via a tidy finish from Juan Mata at Upton Park but capitulated to lose 3-1. Fans chanted against Rafa Benitez as the Champions of Europe continue to struggle.

Benitez probably had three matches to win fans over but the club has just two points from a possible nine under his guidance. Benitez has become the first Chelsea manager since Gianluca Vialli to not win any of his opening three  Premier League matches.

Uninspiring, flat, and dire. These are a few of the choice words to describe Chelsea’s recent performances. Fully in control for the first half vs West Ham, Benitez’s Chelsea failed to hold onto their lead.

When asked if he felt that he will remain as manager for the season: “No I am not 100 per cent. But we didn’t win and if we had won the game we would be happy.”

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce:  “The only way you get the fans behind you is to win. You have to win. If you’re winning games of football, the fans will always be behind you.”

If Benitez can’t deliver, maybe he should try his luck on another Betfair’s Fantastic Four Slots. He might win more on that than by managing Chelsea.
