Chelsea line up Torres replacement Taison, while Benitez tinkers

Chelsea are apparently lining up replacements for Fernando Torres after the 28-year old reached 648 minutes without a Premier League goal. Could another Brazilian be the answer for the beleaguered Chelsea side?

Of course, the former Liverpool star will likely be given until January to prove that he can regain the form that he showed glimpses of earlier in the season. As Fernando Torres approaches nearly two years since joining the Champions of Europe, fans are continuing to question his quality.

Torres seems to have the demeanour of a player weighed down heavily with expectation and apparently lacks desire. Benitez stated earlier in the week that: ”The first thing is to give him some confidence” but Torres may also be short on time. Benitez has apparently been keen to change Chelsea’s training schedule and speed work for Torres.

Taison

Taison, a former Internacional team-mate Oscar, was linked in the summer transfer window but that interest has grown as Torres has faltered. Taison Barcellos Freda had previously been linked with Aston Villa. Taison has only scored four goals in 19 starts for Metalist. Hardly much better than Torres.
