Bundesliga: Bayern Munich continue to impress, move 10 points clear

By on November 28, 2012

With a goal difference of +35 and 12 wins from their first 14 matches, Bayern Munich have been in rampant form in the Bundesliga this season.

Bayern Munich have a 10-point lead after defeating Freiburg 2-0, while Bayer Leverkusen also won. Jupp Heynckes side managed 91% passing accuracy and 60% possession but Thomas Muller – scorer of Bayern’s opening goal –  was pleased to leave Freiburg with all three points:

“In the last few years, we have found it tough. It is never pleasant to play Freiburg. When the opposition went a man down, we had more problems than when it was eleven against eleven.”Freiburg had to battle Bayern Munich with just 10 men after Fallou Diagne was dismissed following a last-man back tackle on Xherdan Shaqiri.

Anatoliy Tymoschuk netted Bayern’s second goal on 79 minutes after Heynckes made a few second half changes with the weekend’s big match ahead.

Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening. Bayern Munich have won 15 of their last 17 home matches in the Bundesliga while Borussia Dortmund are undefeated in 20 of their last 21 away matches.

A massive match in the title race awaits.
